Create last-minute gifts with assistance using the vinyl printer, laser engraver, and die-cut Cameo machines in TechZone@Main. Register online, in person, or by phone at 330.643.9145.

Dates, times, and machines:
Thursday, December 1, 2022, 1-3 pm, Silhouette Die-cut Cameo: This machine can create greeting cards, iron-on designs for t-shirts, gift boxes, stencils, and more. Bring your own materials, and we will assist you with your design and cut.
Tuesday, December 6, 2022, 1-3 pm, Vinyl Printer: Use this machine to print posters, banners, or stickers. We will assist you with your design using Microsoft Publisher or online graphic design software, Canva, to create Posters, Banners, or Stickers. For this class, you do not need to bring your own material, but you will pay for the cost of vinyl when you print.
Wednesday, December 7, 2022, 1-3 pm, Laser Engraver: Bring your own materials, and we will assist you with your design to etch on wood, acrylic, paper, cardstock, cardboard, cork, glass, coated metals, ceramic, marble or tile. The print bed is 12”x24”, meaning the material you bring in to engrave cannot exceed those dimensions. The engraver can cut through materials 1/4” thick or thinner. Main Library, located in the heart of downtown Akron, combines compelling public space with meaningful and relevant public library services for all members of our community. Since opening in 2004, the downtown library welcomes more than one million visitors each year.
Subject divisions include: Business, Government & Science, Culture & AV, Magazines & Newspapers, Special Collections (local history & genealogy), TechZone@Main, Teen, and a 12,000 square feet Children's Library.
Special services available at Main Library include: a Patent & Trademark Resource Center; U.S. Passport and Notary services; a Microbusiness Center; a Maker Space; a resource lab for early childhood educators; and regularly scheduled computer training classes. Also available at Main Library are more than 125 public access computers, color photocopiers/printers, laminating, scanning, faxing, and free Wi-Fi.
Specialized spaces include a 425-seat auditorium, public meeting rooms, and a used bookstore. An interior glass block walkway leads to a 600-space parking garage owned by the City of Akron. An outdoor amphitheater and landscaped park complete the complex.
