Did you know that Main Library’s makerspace offers free access to a laser engraver? Join us for a two-part series that will teach you how to create a design and engrave it on a name tag.

With a laser engraver, you can etch your logo or design into a variety of materials. This series is an introduction into how you can use TechZone's laser engraver to create personalized one-of-a-kind gifts for yourself or others. Material is provided.
Class 1: Thursday, June 9, 2 pm. Learn how to use design software CorelDraw to create a personalized name tag.
Class 2: Thursday, June 16, 2 pm. A hands-on laser engraving experience. Using the CorelDraw designs and skills from the previous class, learn how to etch your design into a name tag using our laser engraver.

Main Library, located in the heart of downtown Akron, combines compelling public space with meaningful and relevant public library services for all members of our community. Since opening in 2004, the downtown library welcomes more than one million visitors each year.

Also available at Main Library are more than 125 public access computers, color photocopiers/printers, laminating, scanning, faxing, and free Wi-Fi.
Specialized spaces include a 425-seat auditorium, public meeting rooms, and a used bookstore. An interior glass block walkway leads to a 600-space parking garage owned by the City of Akron. An outdoor amphitheater and landscaped park complete the complex.
