In Ohio, anyone born on or after January 1, 1982, must successfully complete a boater safety course approved by The ODNR in order to operate a motorized vessel with greater than 10 hp.
Register online, in person or by calling the Portage Lakes Branch Library, 330.644.7050.
This free education course meets for 3 weeks, 2 hours each week. The course is presented via PowerPoint with a written test at the end.
If students successfully pass the written test, they earn their Boating Education Card.
Boaters are required to carry their boater education certificate as proof of boater education.
