Let's Grow Akron presents a virtual summer cooking workshop with a local chef via Zoom. Food kits available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Please register.
Register online, in person, or by phone at 330.376.2927.
About the Program Series:
In this ongoing series, local chefs will prepare a budget-friendly, seasonal dish with fresh produce from the Summit Lake Neighborhood Farmers' Market and/or Let's Grow Akron Community Farm Market. This series focuses on local, seasonal eating, highlighting its benefits: better affordability, higher nutrient retention, lower environmental impact, and superior flavor. Supporting local growers also strengthens the economy.
Each class includes a 30-minute cooking demonstration, 15 minutes for Q&A, and 15 minutes of information on local farmers' markets and nutrition incentives. Details about these markets and nutrition incentives can found on the Let's Grow Akron website: www.letsgrowakron.org.
About Food Kits:
Free food kits, including the ingredients needed to prepare the seasonal dish, will be available starting at noon the day prior to the event at the Highland Square Branch Library while supplies last.
Food kits are limited to the first 10 people to claim them in-person during the pick-up time. These cannot be reserved and are limited to one per person.

The extremely diverse neighborhood is home to seniors, young families, artists, educators, and students of all demographics. The Highland Square Branch Library is a reflection of this diverse neighborhood, with a standout LGBTQ collection and a rich programming schedule.
Reference assistance, computers and computer classes, WiFi, copiers, scanning, and faxing round out the services provided within the library.
