Dive into the intriguing realm of water quality chemistry and biology and make a splash in your watershed through testing and monitoring. Presented by the Summit Soil Water Conservation District.

Interested attendees are encouraged to bring a half cup of soil from their backyard for a testing activity. You will also leave with a personal water quality testing kit.

Absorb a wealth of knowledge about water quality and its importance to society and the natural world!

Discover the importance of the Cuyahoga River fires and the waves the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency made towards researching and sampling water in hopes to improve its quality.

Note the differences between the sampling water through a chemical or biological lens, learning the purposes for the two unique methods and their place in environmental science.

Gain insight into the many aspects of everyday life and nature that affect water quality.

Finally, see how you can take initiative through the Summit Soil and Water Conservation District’s Volunteer Stream Monitoring Program by gathering data vital to the mission of improving water quality in Summit County.
