Grab your sunscreen and beach towel, and join us for a holiday party with Caribbean flair! Enjoy refreshments, games, a craft, and the musical stylings of The Summit Academy Akron-Secondary High School Steel Drum Army!
This talented ensemble will have you clapping and smiling! This concert will showcase the talents of students from 9th grade to 12th grade with a wide variety of learning disabilities, autism, and other challenges.
This school specializes in helping all of our students learn and grow into wonderful young adults in a warm and caring environment.
Melanie Stoll, Steel Band Director, teaches steel drums and multi-percussion as a way for students to express their emotions positively, and with a wide variety of music they can connect to, ranging from island socas to pop songs.
The steel drum band has performed all over Akron, sharing their talents with the community and providing entertainment that will leave you clapping and smiling!
