Award-winning writer Sharon Dennis Wyeth often draws on childhood memories to inspire her work as a children's author. Some of these memories are of home-- neighborhoods she lived in or the outdoor environments where she felt at home with nature. "Most of us think of 'home' as the place we live," writes Ms. Wyeth. "But 'home' can also be a beloved place we left behind. There are certain places where we feel 'at home,' even if we don't live there. When I was a child, I felt 'at home' in my neighborhood Public Library."
Hear how the theme of home helped inspire the author as she shares her recent books "Evette, The River and Me" and "Juneteenth Our Day of Freedom," and her classroom classic "Something Beautiful," now entering its 25th year. A Q&A and book signing will follow Ms. Wyeth's talk.
