Organization Information:
The National Eagle Center is a world-class interpretive center located on the banks of the Mississippi River in Wabasha, Minnesota.
Home to rescued bald eagles and a red-tailed Hawk, The National Eagle Center offers daily live eagle programs as well as interactive exhibits and cultural displays highlighting the biology, ecology, and natural history of the eagle. Visitors have the opportunity to meet these eagle ambassadors face-to-face, and even get their photo taken with an eagle.
The National Eagle Center began in 1989 with volunteers sharing with visitors the unique opportunity to view wild bald eagles in Wabasha in winter. At that time, the bald eagle was still endangered and was a rare sight in most places in the United States. In 2007, the bald eagle was removed from the endangered species list and the National Eagle Center celebrated the grand opening of their landmark interpretive center in Wabasha, Minnesota.
The Center continues to foster environmental stewardship and community sustainability through education about eagles and the Mississippi River watershed through our programs, exhibits and outreach. For more information, visit www.nationaleaglecenter.org.
