Your Highland Square Branch library and Sylvan of Fairlawn are excited to announce the STEM Sylvan Experiences that will be taking place this fall. Open for students in grades 3-5.
Participation is limited to 12 students and registration is required.
Thursday, October 21, Lava Lamp Experiment: STEM doesn't have to be scary; it can be fun! The Highland Square Library and STEM Space at Sylvan Learning Center of Fairlawn will host a hands-on science experiment where children can create their own spooky Halloween themed lava lamp that they will brew up themselves in a take-home mason jar.
Thursday, November 18, Turkey Balloon Rockets: Students, with the help of team members from Sylvan Learning Center of Fairlawn can channel their inner engineer by constructing a Thanksgiving themed balloon rockets that look like turkeys! Students can measure how far their balloons fly in this fun experiment!
Thursday, December 16, Super Structures: STEM can be a bridge to a successful future! Come join team members from Sylvan Learning Center of Fairlawn in building bridges out of KINEX and testing their strength. How many library books can the bridges hold? Sign up and attend to find out!
