Learn about becoming a foster parent and other ways of how to help children in our community.
There is a huge need for foster parents in our community and for those who are willing to open their hearts and homes for children in need. For some people, hearing the words "Foster Parent" can be somewhat frightening. Join us as we discuss how SAFY (Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth) helps to take the fear out of being a foster parent. SAFY is a non-profit therapeutic foster care agency. SAFY provides that extra layer of support to foster parents to help them learn how to love and nurture the children in their home.
Learn the overview of youth needs in our community, learn what it takes to be a successful Foster Parent, review the process of becoming a foster parent, learn about how you can support youth experiencing foster care, and learn how you can give back if fostering isn’t right for you.

The Ellet Branch Library is a hub of education and entertainment for community members of all ages. Within the library, popular programs for adults include summer concerts and book discussion groups. For teens, weekly events include gaming, creative arts, and more. Finally, for younger children and their families, play, storytime, crafting, and parent/child early literacy programs are popular attractions. In the community, Ellet Branch Library staff can be found at area schools, at Safe Landing Teen Shelter, the Ellet Historical Society, and collaborating with community organizations to make Ellet the best it can be.
Computers and computer classes, WiFi, printing, copying, scanning, and faxing complement a rich collection of books (themed book bundles and accelerated reader titles are particularly popular), and movies to make the Ellet Branch Library the one-stop spot for the community's educational and entertainment needs and interests.
