Create a Memorable Mother's Day Tradition with Tea!

Create a memorable Mother’s Day tradition through tea. Join Secret Tea Society founder and Certified Tea Specialist, Angela Strach-Gotthardt, to share the beauty and flavors of the tea leaf.

Together we will practice properly appreciating the taste and aroma of three tea categories, and you will learn that it’s actually fine to, yes, slurp(!) tea.

We will experiment with tea varieties and which are appropriate for blending with fruits, flowers, and spices to create flavors for this special Mother’s Day season.

Join us and get the whole family involved to enjoy the nuances of mint and rosehips, the beauty of violets and lavender, and of course, the tea itself. 

Pick up teas for tasting at Springfield-Lakemore Branch Library beginning Saturday, May 1, 2021. 

For an enhanced virtual tea tasting, our speaker recommends that you have the following supplies ready for the May 8th program:

• Tea samples, picked up from the Library
• Tea samples. If you are using your own teas, please have ready: one teaspoon of  herbal, white or green, and black teas
• Four cups - for brewing (light or white is best to view tea color)
• Four teaspoons
• One lemon and a few raspberries, or seasonal fruit of your choice
• A violet or some fresh mint from your garden
• Timer 
• Hot water - don't boil yet
• Napkins or paper towels for clean up
• Paper for taking notes

The meeting will be held online via Zoom. You can participate by video via computer, tablet or cell phone.
