Writing a persona poem from the perspective of someone or something else requires skill. Learn performance and character basics as well as a storytelling and writing approach. Please register.

Writing a new piece is hard, but writing persona poems requires skill.

There are many questions you'll want to ask yourself before the pen even hits the page or the keys click-clack.

In this virtual workshop, attendees learn about performance and character-building basics as well as crafting a storytelling and writing approach.

AKeem Rollins is a poet from Cleveland, Ohio. His work can be found online at Button Poetry and SlamFind, Knight’s Library, The Huffington Post, Medium, the Good Men Project, Everyday Feminism, and elsewhere.

AKeem was the featured performer at the 2020 National Alliance on Mental Illness Convention. He has also performed and taught at Hamline, Cleveland State, and Kent State Universities as well as partnering with CMSD School District and America Scores.  Currently working two books for publication, P.T.H.D. and The Lynching of the God Ghost, when he is not writing or performing, he hosts an online slam named Lissen…A Queer Slam Event.

This program will be presented online in Zoom, and a login link will be sent several days prior to the event.  Please do not share the web link for this program.
