Join fellow foodies for our Cookbook Club. You don’t have to be a gourmet chef to participate.
Each month we will get together to talk about a certain book, theme, or a celebrity chef. Browse our collection, take home some recipes, and join the group to discuss your successes and mishaps.
We will watch a video demonstration featuring a recipe on this month’s topic. If you can’t attend in person, the video demonstration will also be posted on Facebook along with the recipe.
Cookbooks and handouts are available for pickup in our branch or through our curbside service if you would like to learn more about our theme. Feel free to join the online discussion and leave comments as you enjoy the content at your leisure.
In-person participation is limited and registration is required. Please note that we are currently not sharing or providing food during Cookbook Club at this time.
Proper safety protocols and social distancing will be practiced. Face coverings are required to attend in person.
Slow Cooker Italian Chicken Pasta
1 ½ - 2 pounds skinless boneless chicken breast
16 oz. Olive Garden Italian dressing
8 oz. cream cheese
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese, divided
16 ounces ziti or penne pasta
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Pour the Italian dressing over the chicken. Place the cream cheese on top. (You can cut it into smaller cubes to make the mixing process easier later.) Sprinkle the salt, pepper and ¼ cup of the parmesan cheese on top. Cover the slow cooker. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours. When your chicken is almost done, start cooking the pasta according to the package directions. Drain the pasta and set it aside. Shred the cooked chicken with 2 forks. Add the pasta to the slow cooker and mix everything until combined. Sprinkle over the remaining ¼ cup of parmesan cheese and serve.
