Make your own beeswax tapers! Register by phone, in person, or online beginning May 1.
Join local Richfield resident Dan Kuczmarski in this unique craft program. Beeswax candles made by doing a series of successive dips of the wick into a container of melted beeswax are called tapers. With each successive dip, an additional layer of wax adds to the body of the candle, and the process is repeated until the desired candle diameter is achieved. Although the process is quite straightforward, the type of wick material and its size will affect how the candle burns. Wax temperature, wax purity, and the frequency of dipping also affect the results of the candle burn and the aesthetic.
