Diane Howard, a great-great-granddaughter of abolitionist general Howard, believes in her calling to address the unresolved issues of the Jim Crow era. Then she meets Clevelander Erich Metzger.
Author Donald C. Miller is a 1971 graduate of Kent State University and was on campus during the events of May 4, 1970. Mr. Miller knew two of the students that died that day. As the 50th anniversary approaches, he has written a novel describing the years following President John F. Kennedy's assassination, during the days of the civil rights movement and the Vietnam War. He will discuss his book and its writing.
