Dameka Woods informs about experiences of caring for hair of all textures and ethnicities. Learn about how mental and emotional health can affect the hair care journey.

Dameka Woods discusses God's Creation of Hair and the personalities attached to it, about all textures of hair and ethnicities. This book highlights Dameka Woods’ decades of experience being in the hair industry and the different clients she’s encountered regarding their relationship with hair & their various hair conditions. This book also gives great historical information of the different types of hair, shattering myths of different cultural hair types, the DIY crew, and the way the entire body affects the hair when dealing with different health conditions and disorders. She ties in how the different mental and emotional health of individuals can also affect their hair care journey. Finally, there are some great tips and suggestions for those in their hair journey to identify and assist with obtaining healthy hair.

About the branch

The full scope of community participation, however, is seen in local senior care facilities, local schools and preschools, and neighborhood festivals where Highland Square Branch Library staff plays an active role in creating experiences for participants of all ages.
