We’re a "watch first – meet later" club, and every month the Keeping It Reel Movie Club meets at the Northwest Akron Branch Library to discuss a movie that everyone has watched on their own using Hoopla or Kanopy (services offered free through the library).
Don’t know how to use Hoopla or Kanopy? No worries, come into the branch and we’ll show you how.
The movie club usually meets on Thursday nights once a month at 6 p.m.

October 17th, The Love Witch (2016): In this cult favorite, modern-day witch Elaine (Samantha Robinson) uses spells and magic to get men to fall in love with her. A stylish tribute to 1960s technicolor horror, THE LOVE WITCH utilizes camp and pastiche to depict a feminist revision of the classics of a bygone era.
Official Selection at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Nominated for Best Motion Picture in the Fantastic Competition at Sitges - Catalonian International Film Festival. Winner of the Trailblazer Award at the Chicago Independent Film Critics Circle Awards.
"A modern feminist horror tale that rewards deep exploration beneath its admittedly beautiful surface. What looks like it might be simply a pure exercise in style not only invites multiple viewings, it requires them." - Adam Graham, Detroit News
"Ms. Biller's movie, like its heroine, presents a fascinating, perfectly composed, brightly colored surface. What's underneath is marvelously dark, like love itself." - A.O. Scott, The New York Times
