World War II Akron tells the stories of the men who served in World War II from Summit county including many of the soldiers killed in the war. There are over 100 rare photographs including one of the best collection of Goodyear navy blimp photos ever published. Other topics to be covered will be the Deadliest Year, The Dogs for Defense program, Congressional Medal of Honor winners, The Boy Scout draft, the Fathers draft, and a thorough history of Summit County during World War II.

Tim Carroll, 36, is a native of Akron, Ohio and has ancestors in Akron that date back to the 19th century. Tim began writing about World War II when he started reading his grandfather Carroll’s war letters.
