Denmark ranks among the happiest countries in the world, a distinction many Danes attribute to hygge (pronounced HOO-gah). A hygge lifestyle embraces simple practices that promote comfort, peace and well-being. Key elements include warm lighting, cozy textures and welcoming fragrances, such as the smell of freshly baked cookies.
Hygge is also about slowing down and making time to rest and recharge. Whether enjoying a fika (coffee break), reading in a quiet nook, limiting screen time or savoring everyday moments, the focus is on being present. It also emphasizes meaningful connections through family game nights, conversations with friends and shared meals. Just as importantly, hygge encourages people to embrace their inner child by nurturing curiosity and joy.
In this program, participants will enjoy cookies and hot drinks while exploring practical ways to incorporate hygge into daily life. The session will introduce additional resources for those interested in learning more about the philosophy. Participants will also make Havregrynskugler, a traditional Danish no-bake cookie, to take home and share.
This workshop is offered in two identical sessions. Please register for only one.
