Free hands-on computer classes. Registration is required and available one month prior to the start of the series.

An introduction to Microsoft's spreadsheet program Microsoft Excel. Topics, dates, and times for this series are below:

  • Excel 1 | Tuesday, May 28 | 6 pm | Learn how to create basic workbook files using Microsoft Excel 2013-2016. Discover how to organize data more efficiently using spreadsheets. Attendance at MS Word, Part 1 is preferred.
  • Excel 2 | Wednesday, May 29 | 2 pm | Discover how to modify columns, rows, and format cells. Practice the different ways to duplicate, move, and edit data. Attendance at MS Word, Part 1 is preferred.
  • Excel 3 | Wednesday, May 29 | 6 pm | Learn how to format text and numbers in cells and learn the worksheet basics – setting print area, inserting headers/footers, page margins, etc. Attendance at MS Word, Part 2 is preferred.
  • Excel 4: Introduction to Formulas & Excel Functions | Thursday, May 30 | 2 pm | Let Excel do the math for you! Practice creating and applying formulas to your worksheets and learn how Excel Functions work. Learn how to maximize your data with these helpful tools. Attendance at MS Word, Part 3 is preferred.
  • Excel 5: Sorting, Filtering Data, Creating Custom Lists and More | Monday, June 3 | 6 pm | Experience the more advanced features associated with Excel. Learn how to sort and filter your data and create customized lists for your workbooks. Attendance at MS Word, Part 4 is preferred.
  • Excel 6: Charts & Advanced Custom Tools for Worksheets | Tuesday, June 4 | 2 pm | Experience the more advanced features associated with Excel. Learn how to draw a chart for your data, how to track changes, and finalize your workbook. Attendance at MS Word, Part 4 & 5 is preferred.
  • Microsoft Excel Practical Applications 1 - 6 | Tuesday, June 4 | 6 pm 
  • Free Alternatives to Microsoft Excel | Thursday, June 6 | 6 pm | In the final classes of the Microsoft Excel Series, we’ll explore free alternatives to Microsoft Excel. Learn about free spreadsheet programs like Libre Office, Open Office and/or Google Docs. Attendance at Basic Computer Skills is preferred.

About the branch

The Mogadore Branch Library celebrates its role in a wonderful, close community through its service to customers who visit the library and through enthusiastic participation in neighborhood events and organizations such as the Rotary, Historical Society, and local schools. From its artwork highlighting the local talent of Joan Colbert, Mark Soppeland, and Don Drumm, to its inviting outdoor NatureConnect space, from its community rooms where many local non-profit organizations meet to its interactive play area with hands-on learning experiences for young customers and their families, the Mogadore Branch Library is a place to visit—and stay a while.

In hundreds of programs each year, customers of all ages can learn from speakers and from each other as they explore local history, thought-provoking reads, Lego construction, games, storytelling and a whole lot more. Computers and computer classes, WiFi, scanning and faxing, and a diverse collection of books including an Inspirational Fiction section that is one of the largest in our library system, movies, and music make the Mogadore Branch Library a one-stop shop for educational, informational, and entertainment opportunities.
