Join us for a Spring Equinox Celebration and Open House! Enjoy refreshments, a craft, and live music from the Summit Academy Akron Secondary High School Steel Drum Army.
The Steel Drum Army, directed by Melanie Reymond, will have you clapping and smiling. This ensemble showcases students in grades 9–12 with learning disabilities, autism, and other challenges. Summit Academy provides a supportive environment where students learn and grow through creative expression. Reymond teaches steel drums and multi-percussion as a way for students to channel their emotions through a range of music, from island socas to pop hits.
