On Your Own for Kids

Young children can participate in these activities on their own at the library. Each activity will be available for two weeks. Bring them to the desk for a small reward.

While enjoying the library, kids can try a scavenger hunt or check out the activities on the NatureConnect table.  New activities are put up each month.

• Outer Space Scavenger Hunt – December 3: Search around the children’s areas to find things that are out of this world.
• Flower and Leaf Sun Catchers – December 17: Check out the NatureConnect table for some colorful sun catchers and hold them up to the light.
• Shapes Scavenger Hunt – January 7: Find all the shapes in the children’s area.  Can you name them all?
• Winter Sensory Bin – January 22: Explore the look, feel, and smell of nature in this winter collection on the NatureConnect table.
• Aquarium Scavenger Hunt – February 4: Find the underwater creatures around the children’s area and add them to your aquarium.
• Walking Rainbow – February 18: Check out this experiment in capillary action and color mixing on the NatureConnect table.
