Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention helps to improve balance, both mentally and physically, to reduce the rate of falls. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle for this 8-week course.

Learn the fundamentals of Tai Chi for relaxation, vitality, and posture. Studies have shown that Tai Chi can reduce falls by nearly 70%.
One-hour classes meet twice per week for eight weeks and include:
Warm-up and cool-down exercises;
One or two movements per class, progressively leading to completing six basic core movements and six advanced extension movements;
Breathing techniques;
Tai Chi principles relating to improving physical and mental balance.
Because the workshop gradually builds in strength and complexity, it is recommended to attend a minimum of 12 of the 16 sessions.

The Springfield-Lakemore Branch Library is conveniently located in the Lakemore Plaza, alongside many of the community’s popular shopping destinations, and has plenty of parking for our busy patrons.
