Register online, in person, or by phone at 330-643-9020. Please register for each session to reserve your spot.
Each session will be held in the Microbusiness Center at Main Library, and will feature a local member of the entrepreneurial assistance community along with a brief introduction to a library resource of interest to the entrepreneur.
- July 23 - Structuring Success: Comparing the Pros and Cons of Business Entity Types, presented by University of Akron SEED Legal Clinic
- July 30 - Roadmap to Success: Developing Your Business Plan, presented by Jim Griggy of the Small Business Development Center
- August 6 - The Elevator Speech, presented by Brenda D. Stevens, Regional Director, Minority Business Assistance Center
- August 13 - Pitch Perfect: Tips for Winning a Pitch Competition, by Denise Williams, Founder and CEO, Tech Diva Consulting
- August 20 - The Power of Personal Credit, by Marne Piccolomini, Economic & Community Development Institute
- August 27 - Exploring Banking Products and Services, by Julie Cortez, University of Akron School of Law

Please note: attending any or all sessions is not required to participate in the StartUp Akron Pitch Competition and doing so does not guarantee you will be selected to pitch in September.

Drive-up Window closes fifteen minutes before the building closes for the day.
Main Library, located in the heart of downtown Akron, combines compelling public space with meaningful and relevant public library services for all members of our community. Since opening in 2004, the downtown library welcomes more than one million visitors each year.
Subject divisions include: Business, Government & Science, Culture & AV, Magazines & Newspapers, Special Collections (local history & genealogy), TechZone@Main, Teen, and a 12,000 square feet Children's Library.
Special services available at Main Library include: a Patent & Trademark Resource Center; U.S. Passport and Notary services; a Microbusiness Center; a Maker Space; a resource lab for early childhood educators; and regularly scheduled computer training classes. Also available at Main Library are more than 125 public access computers, color photocopiers/printers, laminating, scanning, faxing, and free Wi-Fi.
Specialized spaces include a 425-seat auditorium, public meeting rooms, and a used bookstore. An interior glass block walkway leads to a 600-space parking garage owned by the City of Akron. An outdoor amphitheater and landscaped park complete the complex.
