Elder law attorney Jaclyn Palumbo will discuss Medicaid, probate, and estate planning to teach you some basic self-help skills to help you protect yourself legally in case of emergency.

There are many legal pitfalls that can come with an emergency admission into a hospital or nursing home for yourself or your loved ones. Being able to issue-spot to defend yourself legally and protect your money is vital in these emergency situations where you are at risk for being taken advantage of while you are emotionally vulnerable. There are many moving parts in these situations that are actually an overlap of Medicaid, probate, and estate planning laws. Knowing how to plan in advance of these emergencies, and how to handle them at the time of the emergency, is a critical skill.

Computers and computer classes, WiFi, printing, copying, scanning, and faxing help to make the Richfield Branch Library a one-stop spot for the community's educational and entertainment needs and interests.

In the community, you will find librarians working closely with Richfield Government and Recreation, the local schools, the Garden Club, Kiwanis, and more. At the library, opportunities for individual and family engagement include an extensive NatureConnect interactive space, an ongoing StoryWalk collaboration along the Carter Pedigo Trail, and other hands-on, participatory exploration opportunities.
