The Kenmore Branch Library, in partnership with Better Kenmore CDC, and the Akron Financial Empowerment Center, is hosting Money Mondays - a monthly workshop and discussion facilitated by Ace Epps, Community Manager for Chase Bank in Akron.
Learn about budgeting, saving, financial planning, establishing, and using credit, preventing identity theft, and loan options. The goal is to help families take the necessary steps toward financial stability while creating access to the tools needed to make that happen.
Better Kenmore CDC is working to improve the quality of life in Akron's second largest neighborhood through cultural, artistic, recreational, and business revitalization within the historic Kenmore Boulevard business district.
The Akron Financial Empowerment Center helps residents build financial stability by giving them the resources to budget and save, pay down debt, and boost their credit scores. Their certified financial counselors can help you navigate financial challenges and achieve your financial goals by creating an individualized financial plan to help you on your own personal path to financial empowerment. Their no-cost, one-on-one financial counseling appointments are available in person at our Kenmore location or virtually by phone or video. The counseling program has no income restrictions.
This will be a monthly event taking place at the Kenmore library with a rolling calendar of events:
March 25 - Budgeting and Saving- This workshop helps participants learn how to control their money and gain an understanding of how to effectively manage money.
May 20 - Managing Debt - different kinds of debt and ways to manage it.
